HDSSFG20B Satellite Selector for DIRECTV

The High Definition 20dB Fixed Gain Satellite Selector for DIRECTV (HDSSFG20B) is a combination of polarity locker, 20dB fixed gain amplifier, and independent power supply that ensures strong and consistent control signals to the dish LNBs and adds signal strength to the system. Designed to be used with DIRECTV’s Ka/Ku band 5 LNB dishes (99°/101°/103°/110°/119°), the Satellite Selector is well suited to recover very low level signals when long cable runs from the satellite dish are necessary.

The HDSSFG20B can be used in residential, commercial, and SMATV installations where system losses from cable and devices begin to degrade performance. The Satellite Selector is capable of receiving and amplifying all current Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) TV channels available from DIRECTV.

HDTV Labs products are all designed for easy installation. Mounting brackets make it easy to secure the devices to walls or flat surfaces. Wide spacing of the "F" connectors makes attaching or removing cabling to the devices a simple procedure. Although meant for indoor use, the Satellite Selector is built with a Professional-Grade rugged aluminum housing and corrosion resistant connectors to extend the life of the product.

The polarity locker circuitry of the Satellite Selector takes control of locking the polarities of the dish LNB’s and with the external power supply, ensures strong and consistent control signals to the LNB’s. The amplifier section is designed to compensate for high frequency cable loss with a gain/slope network, more gain on the higher channels, less gain on the lower channels. Very low-level signal recovery capability allows for longer cable runs to exist in the system before amplification is needed. Proper output signals should be checked with a meter to prevent overdriving any of the system’s four channels.
