HDNBFG30B Fixed Gain Amplifier |

The High Definition 28dB Fixed Gain Amplifier (HDNBFG30B) is a 1-Port general purpose, high gain, high compression point amplifier that adds signal strength to any residential, commercial, or SMATV type installation. When long cable runs as well as multiple taps and splitters significantly reduce the signal strength in single lines of a system, use of an HDNBFG30B amplifier can boost signal strength to the desired input levels required by multi-switches and receivers. Input power levels to the amplifier can be as low as -75dBm. With the amplifier capable of detecting these very weak signals, longer cable runs may be used before amplification is required. This in turn can result in fewer in-line amplifiers being needed in the overall system design. Built-in DC blocking capacitors also eliminate the need for any external capacitors. Reducing system complexity should result in reduced system cost. HDTV Labs products are all designed for easy installation. Mounting brackets make it easy to secure the devices to walls or flat surfaces. Although meant for indoor use, the device is built with a Professional-Grade rugged aluminum housing and corrosion resistant connectors to extend the life of the product. A 12VDC external power supply is included with the amplifier. The 28dB Fixed Gain Amplifier has our best dynamic range capability of -18dBm to -75dBm. With the ability to still recover the desired signal when large variations in cable length and device losses exist, the installation becomes easier to design and more flexible to implement. The ability to detect very weak input signals is an obvious advantage to the commercial installation as it allows more cabling in the system before signal loss becomes an issue. At the other end of the dynamic range, the amplifier’s high compression -18dBm input level allows it to be connected to lines with very strong signals with a reduced risk of being over-driven. If poor C/N ratio is seen at the output of the amplifier, it is being over-driven and the installer must reduce the input power for it to work correctly. Proper output signal should be checked with a meter to prevent over-driving the amplifier. The HDNBFG30B amplifier has a built-in gain/slope network. As system channel frequencies increase, so do the losses associated with that channel. The gain/slope circuitry essentially keeps the output signal at a constant level across all frequencies by applying more gain at the higher frequencies and less gain at the lower frequencies. Installation cost and complexity are reduced in systems using the HDNBFG30B Fixed Gain Amplifier, saving both time and money. All HDTV Labs products are designed and manufactured in the USA. |
